About Marquee Theatrical Productions Founded in 2003, Marquee Theatrical Productions is a registered charitable, community theatre group located in Aurora, Ontario. We are a performing arts school, offering musical theatre programs, dance, acting, piano and voice lessons to children and youth in addition to producing adult musical theatre productions. Our goal is to inspire excellence, motivate learning, uplift the human spirit, build confidence and spark a lifelong appreciation for the arts. Job Description – Social Media and Marketing Coordinator We are seeking a part-time (20 hours p/week) Social Media and Marketing Coordinator that would work directly with the General Manager. This is a 6 month contract starting in mid-December that could be renewed for another 6 months. This role will see you interacting with a variety of stakeholders including staff, volunteers, community event coordinators, town representatives, sponsors and our membership Responsibilities and Skills include:
Show us your creative side and think outside of the box with concepts that would align with our brand
Experience working with a variety of print and online advertising and social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc. to engage new program members and sponsors.
Expand online digital marketing channels, create e-mail and social media blasts and contests
Manage and contribute content to monthly newsletters and blogs
Collaborate with General Manager to determine advertising budget
Produce original content to plan, schedule and promote programs, upcoming events and arrange for publicity, editorials and photos.
Work with our community marketing contacts and sponsors
Problem solver who is unflappable when there’s change and shifting priorities
Takes initiative while having a collaborative approach
Manage community events such as town Movie Nights and Haunted Forest, participation in parades. Create new concepts, arrange for costumes, props in our storage areas and coordinate with volunteers and our contacts for parade floats.
Track statistics and social media campaign successes.
Experience with Google Analytics data and SEO improvement strategies
Create marketing communication and collateral for upcoming special events and program registrations
Could be asked to participate in special evening or weekend marketing events
Technical Knowledge, Education and Experience:
MS Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, WordPress. We are currently using Canva, for a number of marketing requirements and seek your input to other PC or Mac software suggestions.
Intermediate knowledge of social media best practices and platforms
1-2 years+ experience in a similar role
Diploma or Certificate in Marketing or Social Media Strategies.
Past experience with not-for-profit and membership based organizations is an asset
